Teachable? – Part 9

Whether we would like to admit it or not we all have areas of our life where we have a wrong understanding.  Our minds must be transformed but in order for that to happen, we must be pliable in the potter’s hands.  In this series, we are going to look at what the Scripture teaches about having a teachable or humble heart.

Teachable:  Is a person who is capable of being taught.  It is a person who apt and willing to learn.

The Christian that is un-teachable has declared that they are walking in the fullness of the stature of Christ.

This series is designed to get us searching our hearts and minds for areas where we need to repent.  In addition, when this takes place and we allow correction to come and respond to that correction with obedience we will see our relationship and faith with and in the Lord go to another level.

Part 9 – In this message, we take another look at the account of David and Bathsheba.  This relationship did not start out right, it started out in sin or disobedience to the Lord.  The Lord is merciful and gracious and He forgave David, but there were still consequences to the decision that David made.  First, David had lost the child that was conceived in sin, second, what David did in private against the Lord and Uriah’s house.  Paul said in Galatians 6:8 – For he who sows to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.  The Lord has taken care of our sins and the blood flows continually to cleanse us as we stay in fellowship and faith with Him, but the reality is if we walk in sin and the nature of the flesh it has an effect on us and those around us.  Sow from the Spirit and you will harvest from the Spirit!
