Which Tree Will You Pick for Christmas?

Hello Friend,

Tree picking. Which one should I get? A Real tree, fake tree, frocked tree (snow covered) or a fiber optic tree. So many choices. Then, of course, there is the other tree. The Cross.

The Pine Tree:

The reasons why people pick this tree is because Santa comes to this tree with presents and gifts for you. The presents that are placed under this tree are based on how well Santa’s workshop did in profits this year and how well your performance for the past year was.

“He’s making a list, He’s checking it twice. He’s gonna find out who’s naughty or nice.”

The presents that are placed under this tree depend on you and are a temporary satisfaction. Every one of these gifts will eventually break, get old, rust, and you’ll most likely lose interest in them. Then you must wait until next year’s presents come to replace them. This tree can be decorated and designed by whoever buys it. This tree can be altered and changed to fit his or her taste of who bought it. On this tree, people put ornaments, stars, snowmen, glass and ceramic balls, tinsel, garland, ribbon, childhood memorabilia and many other types of decorations. They make the tree look like what they want it to look like. This tree is temporary. This tree gets thrown out. If you would keep this tree setup 12 months a year and 365 days of the year you would be considered weird or a fanatic.

So, we see what this tree has to offer:

A place for presents. An opportunity for us to alter and change the tree to our own liking.  A temporary pleasure.

The Cross:

The reasons why people don’t pick this tree. Whoever chooses this tree cannot alter and change it to have it fit their own liking. The cross is rugged and is not desirable to the eye. The only ornament to hang on this type of tree was people. The cross was a place where thieves and those who were known as to be accursed of God were to be hanged as the Bible terms it.

Deuteronomy 21:22 And if a man has committed a sin worthy of death, and he be put to death, and thou hang Him on a tree:

His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury Him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;)

People realize that this tree is the start of an eternal decision

The cross is the starting point in which one begins his or her new life.

“At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light and the burdens of my heart rolled away. It was there by grace that I received my sight and now I am happy all the day.”

The cross is the bridge that bridges the gap between God and man. The cross gives man access to God.

The cross is the place where God placed the ultimate gift for mankind.

John 3:16 (New Living Translation) 16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

With this gift of salvation comes many other gifts within it.

Salvation is not a small gift. Salvation is Huge! Salvation encompasses healing, deliverance, preservation, and safety. This is a gift available for everyone who wants it.  Jesus is the gift that doesn’t stop giving.

So, I ask you Which Tree Will You Pick for Christmas?

Receive Jesus:  Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior, I receive eternal life right now and the miracle of the new creation is mine. Amen.
